Admin Super Powers Revealed
I recently completed the first ever HubSpot Super Admin Boot Camp with Super Admins from all over the world. I was humbled by the experience to be a part of the first group of “lions” to make it through. This wasn’t some boot camp where you could sit there checked out just to get your attendance points. We had homework–real, useful homework that we had to complete and we were encouraged to reach out to one another and build our Admin community network. This to me was one of the best parts, hearing from other Admins about their trials, tricks and ways to tease the system into what their customers need. Some takeaways from my 6 week experience.
Admin super powers are stronger when we talk to each other. It can be a lonely road as an Admin sitting behind the screen, alone, trying to make the system do what is needed in the background. We can hit road blocks trying to make it all perfect. By simply reaching out to our network, we can smooth in that pothole and keep moving on. I was reminded of this time and time again by the Lions Slack Channel we posted in each week to tell each other what has been a big win, a hidden gem that we learned or a pothole we have encountered. To have this channel to be vulnerable, to ask for help and have the support pour in makes me even more empowered to keep building and creating the best UX I can for my customers.
Yes, HubSpot is truly changing all the time When you are to look around in areas you don’t often Admin in you find that so much has changed since you left, and it hasn’t been that long! I was reminded of how fun it is to dig in and revisit areas of HubSpot I haven’t seen for a while. HubSpot is the perfect platform to be a lifelong learner and continues to grow and change according to user feedback. I love being an Admin for a platform that is ever evolving!
Showing up matters You can always find a reason to get busy doing other things and checking off the to-do list but I can’t say enough how the Admin Boot Camp allowed me to check off items on my list but also allowed for personal development. I was surprised that attendance was taken, they truly cared you were there. They also asked to rate each session at the end and always wanted real feedback to continually improve. After hours we could unmute and ask the experts whatever we wanted. Who does that? I have never been a part of a global training before where you were allowed to be a person and the experts waited and wanted to hear from you. If you don’t think you have the time, you won’t if you don’t prioritize the truly valuable trainings out there. If you are wondering, the Super Admin Boot Camp is one of them, so don’t wait and become a Lion.
Thanks to all of the HubSpot instructors and ninjas who appeared for our sessions. You rocked this first go-around and I will look back on this time together as an important milestone in my Admin journey.
