Do you have business goals for 2023?

If you answered no to the headline, it is ok, it isn’t too late! In the spirit of the World Cup and the end of the year I thought it was a good time to talk goals…and maybe the goal(ies) that are holding you back from being successful in the new year. Whether you accomplish what you set out to do or not, the important thing to remember is that your business needs some direction for the work that will be done next year. If you don’t know where to start, I have a few tips to get you started.

  1. Gather all of your marketing content that is used internally and externally. Do you have any analytics to show how successful different content was in prior years? Does some of it need updated, aligned across departments? If so, here is a great goal to get you started.
  2. Send a questionnaire to managers and employees in different areas to determine what work they were planning on tackling next year. If they don’t have goals either, this is a place to start.
  3. Review content and questionnaire data and start aligning what everyone thinks are the important tasks and topics for next year.
  4. Draft 2-3 goals that can be shared across divisions and ask for feedback.
  5. Have everyone sign off on your goals and make sure everyone has easy access to these goals so they are front and center to guide the day-to-day.
